The New England Patriots will clash with their division rivals tonight at MetLife Stadium. The Patriots are coming off back to back losses to the Steelers and the Giants. They have a tough test against a very good Jets team. The Patriots will be without Dane Fletcher and Brandon Spikes tonight after both didn’t practice this week. They also have listed 11 players as questionable this week including Patrick Chung, BenJarvus Green-Ellis, Kevin Faulk, and Shaun Ellis. This game will be the most important game of the season for the Patriots. Simply because they could take control of the division with a Jets and Bills lost.
Tom Brady has to play at his best tonight in order for the Patriots to win this game. He has struggled for weeks now and tonight he has to face another tough defense. The Jets will be blitzing the entire game and Brady has to get the ball away quick and accurate. He has to somehow find Wes Welker tonight to move the ball up the field. It will be hard, but Brady has to connect to his number one receiver. If Brady struggles the team will probably lose this game. A win is a must for the Patriots if they want to stay at the top of the division.
The defense for the Patriots played much better in the last game against the Giants, but they couldn’t stop the Giants in their last drive. They have to play tough and keep the Jets out of the red zone. The Jets will run the ball a lot tonight and the Patriots shouldn’t have trouble with that. It is the pass defense that has hurt the Patriots all season. They also haven’t had any success of putting pressure on the quarterback. This team has looked bad on defense, but these early struggles can help down the road. The defense has to play tough and limit scoring drives tonight.
This is a big game for both teams and each team will be playing their best. I do expect this game to be close, but I could be wrong.
