For the second day in a row the Knicks continued their offensive slump. Despite Carmelo Anthony’s 27 points the Knicks couldn’t get scores in the second half. The Lakers held the Knicks to just ten points in the fourth quarter.
This was another hard game to watch as the Knicks looked horrible on both ends of the court. The defense was suspect the entire game and couldn’t contain the play of Kobe Bryant. He was able to score 28 points off the Knicks and did it with ease.
If the Knicks are going to make any kind of run this season they will need to play hard every night. This game really showed where the Knicks need to improvement. Toney Douglas was a no show in this game as he scored just 5 points in 33 minutes of action. He will have to play better and give his best in order for this team to go in the right direction.
The Knicks will play the Sacramento Kings on Saturday night and that game will not be as easy as people think. The Kings are young and energetic and can easily blow the Knicks out. The Knicks are now 0-2 on this current road trip that will end Saturday, but if the Knicks lose that game they will find themselves in trouble.
This game tonight proves one thing. The Knicks really need a point guard who can control the game. Toney Douglas and Mike Bibby are not doing the job well. This hopefully will change once Baron Davis returns to the team.
Tonight was just terrible for the Knicks and it showed that they are not ready for the big stage.
