Roger Mason signs with the Wizards

The Washington Wizards have signed former New York Knick Roger Mason Jr. to contract. The team cannot officially sign him until Friday when training camp opens and free agency starts.

Mason Jr. never found the minutes to actually make a difference for the Knicks. He averaged just 2.9 points in 26 games with the Knicks last season. His best season came with the Spurs in ‘08-‘09 when he averaged 11.8 points per game in 30 minutes of action. This will also be his second stint with the Wizards when he played for them from ‘06-‘08. The Wizards are looking for a veteran that can help that team win some games. Mason Jr. will help that team if he can get back into the rhythm of actually playing.
