Tyson Chandler signs with Knicks

The New York Knicks have signed the most coveted free agent in Tyson Chandler. The 7’11” Chandler brings size and defensive abilities that the Knicks have lacked for years. This move will give the Knicks the best front court in the league. Concerns of defense are now out of the window and the Knicks are now a legit threat to win a championship.

In signing Chandler the Knicks will have to use their amnesty clause on Chauncey Billups and trade Ronny Turiaf. It is quite sad to see Billups get amnesty because now he will end up on a team who may not make the playoffs. Billups wanted to have the opportunity to win another championship and now that seems to be out of his control. The Knicks will also have to make smaller trades in order to make the Chandler deal work.

The Knicks have a tough force down low that became their trademark in the Patrick Ewing era. Chandler will bring the Knicks toughness up and they will be a tough team to beat.
