The New York Knicks were looking to get their third win of the season against the Golden State Warriors. The Knicks welcomed back Mike Bibby who missed the first game with back spasms. The game started off slow for both teams with the Knicks leading most of the way. Landry Fields started off really well as he scored 13 points in the first half, but he would quickly turn a nice game into a nightmare. Fields would turn the ball over four times leading to a Warriors score. He really changed his game up in the second half as he was hesitant in everything he did.
The Knicks had the lead going into the fourth quarter, but would quickly fall down by double digits. Toney Douglas failed to do anything in this game and never really got his game going. The success of this team will need production out of the point guard and tonight it wasn’t there.
Carmelo Anthony had a awful night as he struggled to score the ball. Anthony was held to just 13 points in 32 minutes of action. He really struggled to get his offensive game going. He did well early but he failed to consistently hit shots. The Knicks didn’t get a great effort from him. The Knicks as a team were overmatched in hustle and rebounding the ball.
Overall the Knicks were lost on both sides of the ball in the second half. Amar'e Stoudemire led the Knicks in scoring with 16 points. The Knicks will now have to play the Los Angeles Lakers tomorrow night at the Staples Center. Hopefully the Knicks can play better tomorrow and walk away with a win.
