Patriots win #1 seed in AFC; Win 49-21

The New England Patriots were looking for their eighth win in a row with a win over the Buffalo Bills. The Patriots welcomed back Matt Light, Patrick Chung, and Brandon Spikes. The Patriots were also looking for home field advantage to go along with their first-round bye with a win.
The first quarter was a horrible quarter for the Patriots on both sides of the ball. The Bills were able to score three unanswered touchdowns to jump out to a 21-0 lead. This was the second game in a row that the Patriots fell behind early in a game. Last week the Dolphins led 17-0 before the Patriots were able to comeback and get the win.

The second quarter was owned by the Patriots who were looking to get back into the game. They scored on a BenJarvus Green-Ellis one yard run. Then Tom Brady found Aaron Hernandez for a 39 yard touchdown pass. This cut the Bills lead to 21-14 to end the half. The Patriots had the momentum and finally looked like the Patriots that are unstoppable.

The second half proved why the Patriots are a top team in the NFL. They were able to get two field goals from Stephan Gostkowski to bring them within one point. Then later in the third quarter Tom Brady found Rob Gronkowski for a 17 yard touchdown pass to give the Patriots a 28-21 lead after they converted a two point conversion. The fourth quarter is where the Patriots put the game away as they scored three times and each score was a touchdown. Tom Brady threw a touchdown, BenJarvus Green-Ellis ran in a score, and Sterling Moore had a pick six to cap off the day. The Patriots really looked great in the second half and were able to hold the Bills scoreless for the second half.

This game showed that the Patriots wouldn’t panic even if the deficit were big. This team has great heart and is proving that defense in the second half wins games. The Patriots won 49-21 and really came out wanting to win the game.
