Knicks blow out Pistons 103-80

The New York Knicks were looking for their fourth win of the season as they took on the Detroit Pistons. Before the game Mike D’Antoni decided it was time for Iman Shumpert to start. So tonight D’Antoni called his number and Shumpert would not disappoint. He played 28 minutes scoring 11 points and dishing out 3 assists. He has shown the Knicks early on that he can be that guy. He has played very well to start the season and has really helped the Knicks.

Carmelo Anthony didn’t score much tonight, but he did have 7 assists and 3 blocks. He was able to get his teammates involved and they stepped up and made shots. One win can change the perspective of a team and the Knicks now have excellent momentum to keep winning.

Amare Stoudemire led the team with 22 points and was very important in helping the team win. These last two games Stoudemire has been playing very energized and has been grabbing plenty of rebounds. He has to keep this going and continue to play at a high level and help this team win more games.

Mike Bibby was awesome tonight as he scored 16 points. He was very important because he was the guy who broke the game open for the Knicks. If Bibby can continue to play the way he has in the last two games he will be a key piece to the Knicks season.

Lastly, Toney Douglas may have lost his position for the long term. Douglas played just 6 minutes tonight and struggled in his time on the floor.

Tonight the Knicks looked great on both ends of the floor, but they have to continue that in order to get where they want. The Knicks will play the Charlotte Bobcats Monday night at Madison Square Garden in a game they hope to win.
