The New York Knicks will host the Philadelphia 76ers tonight at Madison Square Garden. The Knicks are looking for their fourth straight win with a win over the 76ers. The Knicks are coming off a win against the Charlotte Bobcats in which they were able to hold their lead against a team that wouldn’t go away. The Knicks showed that they could hold a lead after leading by double digits.
Tonight the Knicks will have a tough test against a division foe in the 76ers. The 76ers are on a six game winning streak the longest streak in the NBA right now. They have received excellent production from Spencer Hawes, Thaddeus Young, and Lou Williams. All three have produced for the team and are a key to the teams early success. The 76ers are 3-2 on the road this season, but those two losses came early in the season.
The Knicks will have to contain Elton Brand, who loves to beat up on the Knicks. They will also have to limit the production from Andre Iguodala. Both players are a major part in the 76ers nice start this season.
Carmelo Anthony will likely have to score the ball tonight because the 76ers can really play. His game hasn’t been strong the last two games scoring wise, but he will likely have a big game tonight. His teammate Amare Stoudemire will need to produce on both ends of the floor simply because he will be guarding Elton Brand. Stoudemire hasn’t played strong on the defensive end, but tonight he can show everyone that he could play on that end of the floor.
This game is big for the Knicks simply because they have been playing lesser opponents to start the season. A win tonight will put the Knicks further up the standings and put them two games over .500.
Let’s go Knicks!!
