The New York Knicks will play the Charlotte Bobcats tonight at Madison Square Garden. The Knicks are seeking revenge against the Bobcats who scored 118 points off them. In that game the Knicks couldn’t defend and the Bobcats hit most of their shots. The Knicks have played better since that game and are looking to beat the Bobcats this time around.
Iman Shumpert came off the bench in that game and scored 18 points in that game. But tonight he is starting and looking forward to the challenge of guarding D.J. Augustine. Shumpert has played very well to start his career and his confidence is really high. Tonight Shumpert will have to put the nerves behind him and play his game.
Carmelo Anthony didn’t score the way he wanted to in the last game, but his 7 assists really showed his ability to pass the ball. Anthony said today that he is 100% after he was injured against the Wizards. Tonight expect Anthony to pass and score the ball. This game will test Anthony simply because Derrick Brown will guard him. Brown played Anthony really well in the last game and expect the same in this game.
The Knicks are on a two game winning streak and things are starting to look up for them. They are playing better on the defensive side that is leading to points on the other end. Mike D’Antoni’s move to send Toney Douglas to the bench seems to be working out. Douglas has struggled this season and it seems that Douglas may ride the bench for a while. Mike Bibby is starting to play well and it seems as if he is the backup to Shumpert. If that is the case once Baron Davis comes back the Knicks may trade Douglas for a big man.
Tonight’s game can be watched locally on MSG at 7:30 PM. Let’s Go Knicks
