The New York Knicks will face the Cleveland Cavaliers today at the Quicken Loans Arena. The Knicks are coming off a blowout win over the Charlotte Bobcats in which Carmelo Anthony scored just 1 point. That win was big for them as they were able to snap a six game losing streak.
Tonight the Knicks play again and they face a Cavalier team that has played much better this season. The Knicks have to do the same things they did last night.
Move the ball and stay on their man defensively. Those two things created better opportunities for them resulting in a win. Amare Stoudemire played better yesterday scoring 18 points. It wasn’t that he scored 18 points it was how he scored those points. He had three very nice dunks that made him look like the Amare from last season. He thrives in a up tempo system and last night proved that. Tonight they have to get him the ball in his spots and hope he can finish off his opportunities.
The Knicks bench played very well last night and helped put points on the board. Jared Jeffries scored 11 points to really contribute to the team. Jeffries doesn’t score like this often, but last night he showed if aggressive he could put points on the board. Steve Novak and Toney Douglas both scored 9 points. This was one of the better games from the bench and if they continue this the Knicks can rely less on the starters. Production from the bench will give the Knicks a boost and give the starters a rest.
Tonight the Knicks have to produce on both sides of the ball. Also they need to rebound, last night they outrebounded the Bobcats by 20. If they do the same things they did last night tonight will be a piece of cake. Let’s go Knicks!
