After their big win against the Philadelphia 76ers the New York Knicks will travel to Memphis, Tennessee to play the Grizzlies. This game will mark another back to back for the Knicks. Look for coach Mike D’Antoni to play more guys tonight to give the starters more rest.
Carmelo Anthony will be guarded by Rudy Gay tonight and expect this to be the matchup of the night. Both players can score well, but Anthony will have to play hard to limit the production from Gay. Anthony is coming off a 27 point game against the 76ers in which he was able to have a big third quarter. If the Knicks expect to win tonight they will have to play outstanding defense and keep the Grizzles of the board.
Iman Shumpert and Amare Stoudemire have played well since they have come back from injury. Shumpert is showing that he can start for the team and give them excellent production on both ends of the floor. While Stoudemire has struggled on the defensive end. Both players are playing really well and the offense has taken off since their returns.
The Knicks will need to have a bench that can score at least 25 points tonight. Toney Douglas will need to come in and give the Knicks his best effort of the season tonight. Over the course of the season Douglas has struggled to produce for this team. The Knicks are looking for a great game from Douglas considering he only played 15 minutes yesterday.
This is a big challenge for the Knicks tonight. Coming off a game yesterday, do they have the legs to win this game. A win tonight will really bring attention back to the Knicks as a Eastern Conference challenger. Tonight’s game can be watched on TNT at 8:00 PM. Let’s go Knicks!
