Pre-Game: Knicks vs. Thunder 8:00 PM

The New York Knicks will play the Oklahoma City Thunder tonight. Earlier in the day the Knicks announced that Carmelo Anthony would miss tonight’s contest with a sprained right ankle and Bill Walker would replace Anthony in the starting lineup. The Knicks are coming off a lost to the Memphis Grizzles that snapped a four game winning streak. That game wasn’t the best game from the Knicks as they struggled to score and play defense.

Tonight the Knicks must face one of the tougher teams in the league the Thunder who have gotten off to a great start. This game is a huge test because the young talent the Thunder have. Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook have played great this season and the Knicks will have to try to contain one. If both have big games the Knicks will lose this game. Durant will have a easier time playing tonight with the absence of Carmelo Anthony.

Amare Stoudemire will need to play at his best and not commit silly fouls. Stoudemire last game picked up two early fouls that basically ended his night early. Tonight Stoudemire must come out an score and get his team going. The Knicks can win this game, but they need Stoudemire to play hard and get them this win.

Iman Shumpert has to play great defense tonight which he always does. But one thing Shumpert can not do is shoot 20 shots tonight. He has to be more team oriented and less about himself. Last game Shumpert attempted 20 shots and made just five of them. He has to set the tempo and get the team easy baskets. Also, he must stop Russell Westbrook from getting to the hoop and try to cut off his every move.

Lastly, the Knick bench has to score at least 30 points tonight. Scoring those points will give the Knicks an opportunity to win this game. Landry Fields and Toney Douglas must produce tonight simply because they have struggled all season. This is their time to show up and give the Knicks some much needed production.

Let’s go Knicks!
