Pre-Game: Suns vs. Knicks 7:30 PM

The New York Knicks will play the Phoenix Suns today at Madison Square Garden. The Knicks are losers of three straight games. The Knicks are coming off a lost to the Orlando Magic in which they led most of the game, but a bad fourth quarter ended their hopes of getting a win.

Tonight the Knicks will play Steve Nash and the Phoenix Suns in hopes of snapping a three game losing streak. This game is very important from the Knicks standpoint because a win tonight would put their record back at .500. Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire have to play hard the entire time just to get this win. The Suns are not an elite team, but they can still score the ball. Anthony will have another nice game, but what’s a nice game when you lose. Tonight the Knicks two stars will need to play great to get this win.

The defense has struggled at key points in games this season and that has resulted in losses. The Knicks have to focus on protecting the ball and forcing turnovers. The Suns are very good in the transition and if the Knicks give up the ball the Suns will likely score off the Knicks turnover.

Iman Shumpert will need to bounce back after his three struggling starts. Shumpert has played well this season, but is falling into a slump. When this team is ran nicely by the point guard they easily win. In the last three games Shumpert has committed nine turnovers the last three games. He has to limit the amount of turnovers in order to help this team.

The Knicks need to start getting wins and tonight is a nice place to start. The home fans will be looking to get into this game from the start. A win tonight could start something special for the Knicks. Let’s go Knicks!
