Rockets beat Knicks 97-83

The New York Knicks were looking to snap a two game losing streak tonight when they faced the Houston Rockets. The Knicks were without Carmelo Anthony for the second straight game as he rested from his various injuries. The Rockets were without their leading scorer in Kevin Martin who was out with plantar fasciitis.

The Knicks hung in this game despite shooting the ball poorly. But in the second half the Rockets took the game over and kept the Knicks from making key runs. Amare Stoudemire had a very good game as he scored 23 points to lead the Knicks, but it wasn’t enough. Stoudemire looked more under control and was able to score easier baskets tonight. Stoudemire also had 8 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. He really played well, but his team struggled to help get points on the board.

The guard play for the Knicks have been terrible. Iman Shumpert and Toney Douglas have hurt this team time and time again. They have struggled over the last couple of weeks with setting the tone on the offensive end. They are known for their defense, but have struggled to contain opposing point guards. The Knicks need a change quickly before they fall too far behind.

The start to this season for the Knicks has been very tough to watch. The Knicks need to make some type of change this week. A coaching change or even a trade. This simply can’t go on any longer for the fans sake. The offense is horrible and is making it hard on the defensive end to get stops.

This Knicks team is lost and something needs to change IMMEDIATELY.

Amare Stoudemire
