The New York Knicks played the Miami Heat tonight hoping to get a win. The Knicks were without Carmelo Anthony who was resting from his injuries. This game would come down to the Knicks offensively and they were able to score points, but it wasn’t enough to beat the Heat.
Amare Stoudemire was basically no existent to start this game, but managed to score 12 points. He was basically standing around on the offensive end and looked as if he quit on the team. He was forcing the ball and committed 4 turnovers. Stoudemire looks lost on the offensive end. This may be because of the lack of a point guard, but he just needs to get his game back.
Bill Walker scorched the Heat tonight he shot the ball
exceptionally well as he hit seven three pointers. Walker led the team offensively and was able to score 21 points. He looks to be finding his range that the Knicks desperately need. He also played excellent defense on LeBron James who scored 31 points, but Walker limited the amount of points James had put up.
Iman Shumpert and Toney Douglas continue to struggle this season. Both have looked to shoot rather than get their teammates involved. The Knicks are in desperate need of a point guard and these two have struggled with the role.
The Knicks weren’t expected to win this game and for them to lose by ten points gives hope that once Anthony and Baron Davis return they could possibly be a better team. The Knicks will now face the Houston Rockets tomorrow to finish up this four game road trip.
