Around the NBA: 2/21/2012

Tonight there were only 5 games on the NBA schedule and Roy Hibbertthere were some great games. As it is every night here on Caardel’s Blog it is time to list the top performers of the night. In third was the play of Kyrie Irving who scored 25 points, dished out 8 assists, and grabbed 5 rebounds in a win over the Pistons. In second was the play of Dwyane Wade who scored 30 points and dished out 10 assists in a win over the Kings. And in first was the spectacular play of Roy Hibbert who scored 30 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in a win over the Hornets.

Game of the Night:

Hornets vs. Pacers:

Tonight the Hornets tried to beat a very good Pacers team in Indiana. This game was close throughout with the Hornets leading most of the way. Roy Hibbert was dominant in this game as he was able to power his way down low and score using his array of post moves. Hibbert scored a career high 30 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in this game. He continues to show why he was picked to represent his team in this year’s All-Star game.

The Pacers were able to win this game in overtime as they were finally able to score and play stifling defense. Paul George scored 20 points and threw down a very nice dunk to end the game. (See video below)

George showed tonight that he can score and play great defense. The Pacers record now sits at 20-12 as they try to stake a claim as an Eastern Conference power.

For the Hornets they played very well and put forth a nice effort to win the game, but they fell short of a win. Jarrett Jack played very well as he scored 19 points off the bench. Jack is coming back from an injury and tonight showed that he can still produce in the league. Trevor Ariza scored 21 points and played a very all around game. Ariza is playing very well lately and continues to keep the Hornets in games. If Ariza continues to produce at this level many contending teams will be wanting to trade for him. The Hornets record now sits at 7 wins and 25 losses as a long season continues for them.
