Adam Rubin of ESPN New York, is reporting that New York Mets pitcher Johan Santana is expected to start for the Mets in the spring training opener on March 5th. Santana hasn’t pitched a game since his rehab start late last season. Santana is coming back from surgery to his shoulder in which he missed the entire 2011 season. Santana threw 29 pitches and is expected to keep throwing if no problems occur.
