Knicks win seventh straight; Win 100-85

The New York Knicks returned back to Madison Square Garden tonight as they faced off against the Sacramento Kings. The Knicks were looking to make it seven wins in a row tonight and get their record back to .500.

The Knicks came out with energy and led for most of the game. This game was over by halftime with the Knicks offense flowing. Jeremy Lin didn’t need to score much tonight, but he was able to get a career high 13 assists while scoring 10 points. Lin played under control for the most part, but as he tired in the third quarter he started to turn the ball over. Lin had 6 turnovers tonight, but the team continues to win ball games. The ability to find teammates and give them scoring opportunities is very important to this team.

Amare Stoudemire scored 11 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 27 minutes of action. Stoudemire looked great early on, but cooled off as the game went on. Lin was able to get Stoudemire rhythm shots that made it easy for him to score. Once Lin and Stoudemire get the chemistry they will be very good.

Tyson Chandler had 9 points including a few alley-op slams. Chandler was found by Lin a few times for easy dunks. Those two have something that can really help the team gain momentum in games. Also, Landry Fields has played exceptionally well over the last few weeks. Tonight Fields scored 15 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and dished out 5 assists. He really was helpful with his all around game. Fields also was the beneficiary of some great passes from Jeremy Lin. Those two are connecting easily and are making it easy for the Knicks to run a fluid offense.

This game was a needed blow out which allowed the starters to get some time on the bench to save their legs. Now the Knicks will focus their attention on the New Orleans Hornets on Friday. The Knicks showed tonight that their offense can be quite deadly if everyone moves and can get open shots. Hopefully the Knicks can bring that same effort in Friday’s game.
