Pre-Game: Nets vs. Knicks 7:30 PM

The New York Knicks will be facing off against the New Jersey Nets tonight at Madison Square Garden. The Knicks are coming off a really tough lost to the Boston Celtics in which they lost by two points. That game really showed the Knicks that some players need to go. Toney Douglas haJeremy Lins hurt this team all season and in most cases has hampered any progress that the team makes. Last night Mike D’Antoni played Jeremy Lin off the bench before he played Douglas. Lin was able to get the offense rolling even though he ended up with one assists. But Lin only played seven minutes in that game. Tonight expect Lin to get more playing time as the role of Toney Douglas dwindles down.

This game is a must win for the Knicks simply because they are the better team. Carmelo Anthony has to continue playing the team game and get Amare Stoudemire involved early. Both guys have played really well over the last few games and look to be getting confortable with each other. If both can play productive games tonight the Knicks will win this game.

Landry Fields has played spectacular over the last couple of weeks. He continues to shoot the ball really well and is creating opportunities for other players. The Knicks have been moving the ball well which is creating rhythm shots for Fields. At this level Fields could possibly solve the issue with the shooting guard position.

The Nets are a team with a very similar record as the Knicks, but they are missing pieces that may harm them tonight against the Knicks. Brook Lopez and Marshon Brooks are both out with injuries and the Nets are really missing their production. But the Nets do have a star player in Deron Williams who can be very tough to stop. Williams is having a down year, but he can still play the game. The Nets have a long way to go in building a team, but Williams is a nice piece to build around.

This game tonight will be a much needed win for the Knicks. In a way the Knicks need a 30 point blowout tonight. This is not a game to lose in any way. In this game tonight the Knicks need to move the ball and get open shots. This game can be watched on MSG and or YES at 7:30 PM. Let’s go Knicks!
