President Obama talks Jeremy Lin

President Obama is watching “Linsanity” along with the rest of the world. The President is very impressed with the play of the Knicks new point guard according to the White House spokesman Jay Carney. The quote below is from Sports Illustrated posted earlier today.

“He is very impressed and fully up to speed,” White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters about Jeremy Lin.  “It’s just a great story…The president was saying as much this morning.”

Aboard Marine One this morning with the President, Carney told reporters that Lin’s game-winning three pointer last night to beat the Toronto Raptors was the subject of conversation.

Coming out of Harvard, undrafted, overlooked, and cut by two teams before finding his way onto the Knicks, Lin has accomplished something never done since the NBA-ABA 1976-77 merger, scoring a total of 137 points in first five NBA starts.  He looks to extend that record tonight against the Sacramento Kings.
