Celtics beat Knicks in overtime 115-111

The Knicks played the Celtics for the third time this season. This game was close throughout, but like every Knicks-Celtics game the referees were awful. Carmelo Anthony did everything in his power to keep the team in the game. And he did just that with his 25 points. If Anthony didn’t play in this game the Knicks would have lost by double digits.

This game went into overtime after Paul Pierce tied the game up with a three. The Knicks didn’t foul which really gave the Celtics the opportunity to tie the game. The Knicks will still have a great season, but games like these reminds the Knicks that they are just  no ready yet. Jeremy Lin committed two early fouls that took him out of the game. Lin ended the game scoring 14 points and dishing out 5 assists. The Celtics played Lin very well, but Lin committed 6 turnovers that really came back to bite the Knicks. As the season goes along Lin will get better and the Knicks will get better. This lost today was hard fought, but in the end the Knicks fell just a little short.

As a team the Knicks played well, but in the end the Celtics made shots that were tough looks. This game shows the Knicks that once they get better on the defensive end they could be a very dangerous team. Baron Davis filled in nicely for Lin as he was able to get 7 assists and 8 points. Davis played very well when on the floor despite his 6 turnovers. The Knicks will be very dangerous later this season, but right now they are just coming up short against the elite teams.

The Knicks next game is on Tuesday night against the Dallas Mavericks. Hopefully the Knicks can pull out a win and get back to .500.
