The New York Knicks won possibly their biggest game of the season. They were able to defeat the Philadelphia 76ers for the second time this season and pull within three games of first place in the Atlantic division.
The Knicks won this game 82-79 in a very tight game.
This game was very hard fought by the Knicks who struggled in the third quarter, but somehow won this game. Amare Stoudemire played a very nice game as he scored 21 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in the game. He really had a nice game on both sides of the court. In possibly the biggest play of the game Stoudemire made a huge block to take away Elton Brand’s two handed dunk. He looked really good tonight and is starting to look like the Amare of old. He was very huge in getting this win on both ends of the floor.
Jeremy Lin was key in the fourth quarter who scored 16 points in that quarter. He scored 18 points on the night and really had a nice finish to the game tonight. He turned the ball over twice in this game and really played a patient game. He was able to grind out the game by driving to the hoop and forcing fouls. He made the right plays late in the game to win. He did commit a bad foul that allowed the Sixers to comeback into the game as they were able to covert a foul and a two point basket.
This game wasn’t pretty for both teams, but the Knicks won this game simply because of their defense. They also rebounded the ball much better in the second half which allowed them to keep the Sixers from scoring. The Knicks will now face the Toronto Raptors on Friday night in what could be another win for this team.
