The New York Knicks rebounded nicely after their first lost under Mike Woodson yesterday night. But tonight the Knicks came out with intensity and energy that they lacked last night in Toronto. They led most of the game and took the game out of reach in the third quarter. Carmelo Anthony scored 15 points in his 29 minutes on the floor. His shot still hasn’t improved, but Anthony had a much better second half tonight. With Anthony on the floor tonight the Knicks were a plus 19 with him on the floor.
Amare Stoudemire scored 17 points and grabbed 8 rebounds before he departed in the third quarter with a sore lower back. Jeremy Lin also was injured tonight as he has a sore left knee. During his 24 minutes on the floor Lin scored 13 points, but turned the ball over 7 times.
Hopefully these injuries will not cost these two players any games otherwise the Knicks will have to get production from other players.
This game tonight the Knicks pounded the Pistons on the boards winning the battle 54 to 30. This was by far one of the Knicks best rebounding games of the season. Grabbing rebounds allows opportunities on the offensive end. Tyson Chandler was a major part of the rebounding tonight as he grabbed 17 rebounds. Chandler was very impactful for the Knicks tonight as he scored 15 points.
On Monday night the Knicks will face the Milwaukee Bucks at Madison Square Garden. Tonight the Knicks showed that after a tough lost they could comeback the next day and win handedly.
