The New York Knicks played the Milwaukee Bucks tonight at the Bradley Center. The Knicks were looking to avoid a four game losing streak with a lost tonight. The Knicks came out on fire from the field, but their defense was non existent in this game.
Carmelo Anthony played really well in this game, but late in the game he was unable hit shots. As a team Anthony really gave the team a spark early on which really started the Knicks offense off right.
Anthony went on to score 22 points. Anthony was much more aggressive in this game which put the Knicks in a better spot later in the game. The real good news from this game was the effort by Amare Stoudemire who scored 27 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Stoudemire really seems to have found his groove in the Knicks offense. But his struggles continue on the defensive end. Both Stoudemire and Anthony played defense late in the game, but it was way too late. As the stars of the team they have to play consistent defense all night. Giving up easy points always comes back to haunt a team and it did tonight.
Jeremy Lin was spectacular tonight as he scored 20 points and dished out 13 assists. Lin was able to slice through the defense and score easy baskets. He also showed that he can pull up and shoot on the fast break. The Knicks may have found their offense in this game, but their defense showed up way too late.
The best individual game by far came by Baron Davis who scored 9 points and dished out 9 assists. He was very important in the Knicks run that put them down by one after trailing by 15 points in the third quarter. Davis showed that he and Lin could play at the same time and have success. Davis wore down late in the fourth quarter that caused him to miss some open shots.
This game should have been one the Knicks won. Now the Knicks will face the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday which could mean another lost. They are now four games under .500 and they are starting to fall out of the playoff picture. Again the Knicks fall to the Bucks 119-114 in what was a very terrible game defensively by the Knicks.
