Anthony leads Knicks past Celtics; Win 118-110

The New York Knicks put on a shooting clinic tonight as they shot past the Boston Celtics. The Knicks were led by Carmelo Anthony tonight as he scored 35 points. But Anthony had possibly his best all around game as he grabbed 12 rebounds and dished out 10 assists tonight. This was the second career triple double for Anthony and it couldn’t of come at a better time. Their was no one to guard Anthony tonight and everyone the Celtics threw at Steve Novakhim he took advantage of.

The Knicks bench scored 55 points tonight and 50 of those points came from Steve Novak and JR Smith. Both had the three point touch going on as they made a combined 15 threes tonight. This was an excellent shooting performance from the Knicks tonight. The ball movement was crisp and that created wide open shots against a very tough Celtics defense. As this game went on the Celtics were able to close the gap and at one point came within 6 points of the Knicks. But the Knicks made some big shots and were able to close the game out.

This performance by the Knicks really showed that they really want to make the playoffs and keep the winning atmosphere going. The person that really helped tonight was Tyson Chandler who scored 20 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. This was a very nice performance by Chandler who only missed one shot tonight. As the season goes along Chandler could be a very nice threat to have in certain games. Tonight Chandler showed that he is very dominant on both ends of the floor.

Paul Pierce torched the Knicks tonight, but his efforts were in vain as his team lost. Pierce scored 43 points and made 17 free throws to give him that high score. The Knicks struggled to contain Pierce tonight, but for them they were able to make shots. This game was very important for the Knicks to win. Right now the Knicks are three games ahead of the Bucks and one full game over the 76ers. The Knicks are in position to face the Miami Heat in the first round of this seasons playoffs.

The Knicks will play the New Jersey Nets tomorrow for the final time this season. But for tonight the Knicks can hold their heads up high knowing that they are in position to make the playoffs for the second year in a row.
