Giants beat Mets 6-1

The New York Mets struggled today against the Giants as they lost 6-1. The Mets struggled to score runs despite having runners in scoring position today. This game was a very unproductive day for the offense as the Mets left 12 men on base. This was another day the Mets have struggled to get the big hit. Mike Baxter drove in the only run for the Mets on an RBI double in the second inning.

Miguel Batista struggled today as he allowed 6 runs (3 earned) on 7 hits. Batista also gave up 2 homeruns today and both came with runners on base. As this season goes on Batista will likely get more opportunities to start, but today he struggled in his first start of the season.

The Mets will play their second game in about 20 minutes. In that game they will start Dillon Gee hoping that he can help get them a win. This was a very bad game for the Mets and hopefully they can get the job done tonight. A win tonight will split the series at 2-2 with each team winning a pair of games.
