The New York Knicks lost their first home game in the last nine games. The Miami Heat were able hold the Knicks to just jump shots today and the Knicks were unable to make shots consistently to win this game. Carmelo Anthony gave this game all he had today as he scored a game high 42 points. Anthony kept the Knicks in the game, but his teammates were unable to hit shots which cost the Knicks the game tonight. Anthony continues to play hard for the Knicks and today was the prime example of how good he is.
As a team the Knicks were overmatched on the boards as the Heat grabbed 47 rebounds and the Knicks had 33. In most losses the Knicks have been outrebounded and have struggled to hit shots in those games. Today was a prime example of how bad the Knicks have to get Stoudemire back. His ability to score could have easily helped the Knicks get past the Heat today.
JR Smith was the only Knick other than Anthony to score in double figures today. Smith scored 16 points and hit four threes. He played really hard and really helped with his 7 rebounds. Today Smith showed that he can continue to score despite the very tough defense from the Heat. As the sixth man it is good to see Smith contributing like he does. His effort is always high and he makes plays even when they aren’t the best.
Today the Knicks lost a very tough game, but have to regain focus when they take on the Celtics Tuesday night. This game showed the Knicks that they have to get better defensively and learn to be consistent the entire game.
