Knicks defeat Clippers 99-93

The New York Knicks won another big game tonight as they defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 99-93. The Knicks were led by JR Smith who scored a team high 21 points. Smith was very efficient with his time on the floor as he shot 7 of 13 from the field. Not only did he score, but Smith had 5 assists tonight. He passed the ball very well and was able to find the open man all night. His defense was also good as he had 4 steals. As the regular season winds down the Knicks need their other guys to step up and play every night. Tonight Smith was the leader and really helped the Knicks get passed the Clippers.

Carmelo Anthony scored 17 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in his 28 minutes of play. Anthony was great in his ability to score early on. Tonight Anthony didn’t play in the 4th quarter and that is a real good thing for the Knicks. Now Anthony can be rested possibly tomorrow and go into the playoffs with a well rested superstar. Amare Stoudemire played in the 4th quarter, but he finished the game playing just 29 minutes. Stoudemire scored 10 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in his time on the floor. Tonight the Knicks won the game and were able to rest their two stars.

Only two players played over 30 minutes tonight in Tyson Chandler and JR Smith. The Knicks won this game and now have to win tomorrow to clinch the 7th seed in this seasons playoffs. Earlier tonight the Orlando Magic won against the Bobcats, thus ending any hope of the Knicks getting the 6th seed. As the regular season ends it is very clear that the Knicks may be playing their best basketball with most of their guys healthy. Tomorrow it is very likely that Carmelo Anthony, Amare Stoudemire, and Tyson Chandler all sit and rest in preparation of the playoffs.

Baron Davis also had a very nice night as he scored 12 points tonight. This is the second consecutive game that Davis has had a very nice game. Hopefully he can keep up his efforts and keep playing well in the playoffs. This was a very nice win for the Knicks who continue to win at home.
