Knicks defeat Nets 104-95

The New York Knicks defeated the New Jersey Nets 104-95 tonight in Newark. The Knicks came out the gate scoring the ball and went up by 21 points. They won this game, but the Nets did make it interesting at times. The Knicks were able to hold on and get their fourth wire to wire victory. This was a very important game for the Knicks who could not lose against a team with a bad record then them.

Carmelo Anthony was on fire early in this game and finished the first quarter with 21 points. Anthony would finish with 33 points and 7 rebounds. He is playing very well right now and is bringing the effort every night. His efforts are starting to pay off because the whole team is playing better. This is just the start for Anthony leading this team and hopefully he can keep leading the Knicks to wins.

Every player scored for the Knicks tonight and that in itself made this win even better. The starting point guard in this game was Mike Bibby who replaced Baron Davis. Bibby scored 8 points and dished out 8 assists tonight and really set the offensive rhythm for the team. What Bibby did tonight was give the Knicks excellent minutes and that is the effort he needs to bring every night. So far this season Bibby has struggled to make shots and give the Knicks efficient minutes. The rest of the season Bibby can really bring a veteran leadership the Knicks to try to help the team get further in the season.

The Knicks will now focus their attention on the Cleveland Cavaliers in their game on Friday night. But for now the Knicks are four games over .500 and are moving closer to clinching a playoff berth.
