Knicks hold on to beat Hawks 113-112

The New York Knicks won a game in which their defense really struggled. But in the final play the Knicks were able to play some good defense that won them the game. Carmelo Anthony had a very good game as he scored 39 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Anthony was very instrumental in this Knicks win. He was able to get to his spots and convert on his chances. As the regular season winds down Anthony is playing possibly the best basketball of his Knicks career.

Amare Stoudemire had a very dominant performance today despite his foul troubles. Stoudemire scored 22 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. He looked very good out on the floor. He had a couple of strong dunks that really gave the fans some excitement. As the Knicks get ready for the playoffs Stoudemire has to play this hard every night.

The Knicks won this game because of their excellent scoring from their starters. Today every starter finished with 10 points or more. The bench struggled and only contributed 7 points today. In this case the Knicks were able to win because of the excellent scoring from the starting unit. Tyson Chandler didn’t play today because the Knicks wanted to give him a day of rest.

The Knicks will now have to face the Los Angeles Clippers Wednesday night. With the playoffs near the Knicks haven’t clinched one spot, they have to potential to get either the 6th, 7th, or 8th seed. This game was a nice hard fought win for the Knicks in what was a playoff type game. This is a nice game from the Knicks and hopefully they can continue to win.
