Knicks outlast Bucks; Win 111-107

The New York Knicks won possibly the biggest game of their season to date. They were somehow able to grind this game out and get the win. This game came down to the other players for the Knicks and it did. JR Smith hit some big shots in the fourth quarter that helped get the Knicks past the Bucks tonight. Smith scored 14 points tonight and really made the right shots at the right time.

Carmelo Anthony was the scorer again tonight as he scored 32 points. This was his game early on as he would hit some very tough shots. Despite being in foul trouble Anthony never backed down from this game. He kept playing hard even after injuring his hand in wrist in this game. These are the games Anthony has to show up in and tonight he played hard again.

The offensive play of Tyson Chandler tonight was spectacular as he scored 19 points. Chandler isn’t known for his offensive abilities, but tonight he helped in a big way for the Knicks on that end of the floor. He also had 11 rebounds tonight as he led the team in that category.

The alarming thing the Knicks have to fix is their point guard play. Baron Davis played 19 minutes tonight and struggled at times on the floor. Davis had five turnovers while on the floor, but he was +15 while on the floor. Mike Bibby played 9 minutes, but he didn’t see any second half minutes. The Knicks really miss Jeremy Lin right now and they haven’t been getting any production out of their second unit guards. Heading into the postseason the Knicks may really need to add another point guard before the season is out.

Tonight the Knicks were able to grind this game out. This game had playoff intensity that the Knicks have to absolutely get used to. Tonight they proved that they are better if they play as a team. They continue to get away from the ball movement, which always comes back to get them. The Knicks will play the Washington Wizards on Friday night in a game they will want to have.
