Mets fall to Astros 4-3

The New York Met took on the Houston Astros tonight in hopes of winning their fourth straight game. The Mets had an excellent effort from R.A. Dickey tonight as he went 6.0 innings allowing 3 runs on 3 hits. Dickey struggled in his last inning of work as he allowed 3 runs. Dickey at one point held the Astros hitless through five innings, but the 6th inning he really struggled to get through the inning. This was a nice start by Dickey as he walked away with a no decision.

The Mets offense came alive in the 7th inning as they scored 3 runs. The first run came on a Andres Torres infield single that scored a run. Then the next two runs came on Kirk Nieuwenhuis two-run single that knotted the game up at 3. The Mets offense finally was able to crack the scoring column after struggling to get on base.

Manny Acosta gave up one run in the 8th inning that would result in the Mets losing this game. Acosta is now 0-2 on the season. This game was there for the Mets, but they were unable to get the job done. The Mets out hit the Astros 8-5, but still lost the game. The Mets are now 13-10 on the season.
