Pacers comeback from 15 to beat Knicks; 112-104

The Knicks lost tonight after they led by 15 after the third quarter. They lost this game because they were out hustled and out worked in the fourth quarter. This was a very tough lost for the Knicks who could have continued to push up the standings. But instead this lost could possibly be the one that could come back to bite them.

Carmelo Anthony tonight passed Walt Frazier on the all-time scoring list. He was very good in this game as he played well on both ends of the floor. Anthony scored 37 points tonight, but was unable to get his team over the hump. He was eating the Pacers up on the offensive side, but one man can’t beat a team by himself.

As a team tonight the Knicks collapsed and failed to put the Pacers away. The defense was great in the second and third quarters, but in the fourth quarter they fell apart. They struggled to rebound the ball in that quarter as well. This lost will really put the Knicks in a tough spot in trying to clinch a playoff spot. There are some very tough games coming up and the Knicks don’t seem ready to get it done.

The Knicks had scoring opportunities, but never were able to hit any shots. JR Smith was ejected late in the fourth quarter after he threw Leandro Barbosa to the floor, after Barbosa was holding down Smith’s arm. That incident will be reviewed and Smith is likely to be suspended. Smith did score 11 points and grabbed 9 rebounds off the bench.

The Knicks will have to regroup for their game on Thursday night against the Orlando Magic. They will need to win that game in order to possibly save their season. The rest of this season will be a nail bitter, buckle up.
