Playoffs Game 2: Knicks vs. Heat 7:00 PM

Tonight the Knicks and Heat will continue their series against each other. The Knicks are coming off possibly their worst playoff lost in the team’s history. Game 1 was really bad for the Knicks on both ends of the court. They were unable to get any offense generated and that in itself led to them getting the lost.

Carmelo Anthony was silenced in game 1 as he scored just 11 points. Anthony was denied by multiple defenders and never could get any rhythm. Anthony in no way gave up in this game. He grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out 3 assists. Tonight Anthony will need to get back to his game and that is dominating the Heat. After the loss in game 1 Anthony said that he will have to make the adjustments to help his team on the offensive end. This game can be won, but Anthony has to be the leader in the biggest games of the season.

Amare Stoudemire was also silent in game 1. Stoudemire made a couple of nice dunks early on, but never was able to get his rhythm either. Stoudemire scored 9 points and was in foul trouble in the second quarter. Tonight the Knicks will need Stoudemire to be productive and help the team on both ends of the floor. The Knicks need to run more pick and roll plays with Stoudemire tonight. The Knicks have to get back to running plays for him in a pick and roll setting. Teams haven’t seen a lot of pick and roll and that should help Stoudemire get easier baskets.

The biggest concern for the Knicks is that now that Iman Shumpert is injured, who will step up? Losing the best perimeter defender on the team the Knicks will really have to give all of their effort in the rest of the playoffs. Game 1 also was a terrible one for Tyson Chandler. After being able to get through shoot around, Chandler was able to play, but never helped the team in any way. Chandler struggled as he committed 7 turnovers. Tonight Chandler will play despite his battle with the flu. According to multiple sources close to the situation, Chandler is much better and should have a better game.

This is a major game for the Knicks. The showing in game 1 already has people saying the series is over, but the Knicks can come out tonight and change people’s mind. This game will be televised on TNT and MSG at 7:00 PM. Let’s go Knicks!
