Pre-Game: Marlins vs. Mets 1:10 PM

image

The New York Mets will close out their three game series with the Miami Marlins today at Citi Field. So far in the series the Mets have won the first two games and a win today will give them the series sweep. The Mets have been getting much better pitching in this series. That area has struggled for them over the last week and hopefully tonight they can continue to pitch well.

Jon Niese will get the start for the Mets as he looks to keep pitching well. In everyone of his starts this season Niese has had a quality start. This is a very important game for the Mets to take some momentum into the next series and continue to win. Niese has been very good this season and his dominance should continue today.

The offense for the Mets showed up last night as David Wright hit a two run homerun that gave him the sole lead atop the Mets RBI list. Mike Baxter also knocked in two runs with a two-run double. This was a very nice offensive outburst by the team and that production gave them the win. Tonight the Mets will have about the same lineup, so maybe they can generate the same type of production.

This game will be live on SNY at 1:10 PM and will be on WFAN 660 AM. The Mets will try to get the sweep today and keep improving their record. As the season continues to go along it will be very important for the Mets to finish off series with a win. If they do that they can have lots of success this season. Let’s go Mets!
