Pre-Game: Marlins vs. Mets 7:10 PM

image

The New York Mets will host the Miami Marlins tonight at Citi Field. The Mets are coming off two consecutive losses against the San Francisco Giants. Tonight the Mets will face SS Jose Reyes and will give him a video tribute before the game. It will be very interesting to see the fans reaction when Reyes is introduced. Most feel that Reyes should have stayed while others respect his choice. Tonight the Mets will face Reyes for the first time and this game should be very interesting.

Johan Santana will start tonight for the Mets looking to rebound from his worst performance of his career. Santana last just 1.1 innings in his last start as he allowed 4 runs. Tonight Santana has to command the zone better and command all of his pitches. This game will be over quickly if Santana can not limit the hits. The Marlins are a very quick team. This game will really test the Mets defense and will give them an idea of how good their defensive game is.

The Mets moved two players to the disabled list today in Mike Pelfrey (elbow) and Jason Bay (ribs). They have called up Robert Carson and Zach Lutz. Both will be in uniform and will be available to play. The injury bug has hit the Mets in a huge way in just one day. Now they will have to rely on young players to get the job done.

This game will be televised on SNY at 7:10 PM and will be on WFAN 660 AM. The Mets are looking to snap a two game losing streak and get their record back to .500. This is a pivotal game in the series. The first team to win has less pressure in the next game and the Mets could use less pressure right now. Let’s go Mets!
