Pre-Game: Wizards vs. Knicks 7:30 PM

The New York Knicks return home tonight to face the Washington Wizards. After their latest win the Knicks are looking to continue winning against the lowly Wizards. This game has the makings of being a blow out simply because the Knicks have much more firepower then the Wizards.

Leading the way for the Knicks is Carmelo Anthony. After his 43 point performance against the Bulls on Easter Sunday, Anthony continues to play hard for the Knicks. The most impressive thing about Anthony has been his effort level. His defensive game has picked up along with his scoring load. As the season continues it is important that Anthony keeps up his effort on both ends of the floor. Tonight Anthony should just let his teammates get their game back offensively before their big game against the Miami Heat on Sunday afternoon.

Tonight Steve Novak, Landry Fields, Iman Shumpert, and JR Smith all have to be contributors for this team. They have all had stretches where they have looked solid and now is the time for them all to get hot again. This team has had success when the whole team is clicking. But against good teams they have all been limited in production. If this team can play together consistently they will win many games. But the Knicks have to get much more production out of their second unit backcourt. Mike Bibby and or Toney Douglas have struggled to consistently be effective off the bench. Since the injury to Jeremy Lin, the second unit backcourt has struggled to run the offense. The Knicks have to get production from either of those guys otherwise this game will be close.

This game is very important for the Knicks, they can not allow this game to slip from their grasp. They have to win this game and keep putting distance between them in the Bucks. Right now the Knicks lead the Bucks by two games in the eastern conference standings. This game will be televised on MSG at 7:30 PM.
