Josh Thole leaves tonight’s game

New York Mets catcher Josh Thole was injured while making a play at the plate. Thole was hit in the head by the shoulder of a sliding Ty Wigginton as he slid into home plate trying to score. Thole was able to keep Wigginton from scoring, but took a brutal shot to the head. Thole was replaced by catcher Mike Nickeas. The good sign for the Mets was that Thole was able to walk off the field under his own power.

Update:

Thole is currently undergoing tests for a concussion. Thole left the field dizzy, but walked under his own power.
