The New York Mets will take on the Arizona Diamondbacks tonight at Citi Field. After struggling on their last road trip, the Mets are looking to get back to winning against the D-Backs.
Tonight Dillon Gee will get the start for the Mets looking to build upon his last start. Gee went seven innings allowing just 3 runs on seven hits against Rockies last Saturday. Tonight Gee will face a very capable D-Backs offense and will have to command all of his pitches to get through this game. This season Gee has displayed good pitching and bad pitching, but tonight Gee has the opportunity to get his team in position to win if he can make the right pitches.
Gee will face a very young and talented LHP Wade Miley tonight. Miley is having a great start to his season with a 3-0 record. In his last two starts Miley has struck out 13 batters in over 12.1 innings. Tonight the Mets offense will likely be challenged by this nice young pitcher. As a team the Mets have struggled against left-handed pitchers. Tonight the Mets need to stay patient and stick to the pitches they can hit rather than swing at pitches outside the zone.
The Mets announced that they have recalled OF Vinny Rottino and optioned RHP Chris Schwinden to Triple-A Buffalo. Also the team transferred RHP Mike Pelfrey to the 60-day disabled list.
This game will be shown on SNY at 7:10 PM and will be on WFAN 660 AM. The Mets are looking to snap out of a three game slump and get back on track. Let’s go Mets!
