Pre-Game: Mets vs. Astros 2:05 PM

image

The New York Mets will play the Houston Astros this afternoon at Minute Maid Park. The Mets are coming off two consecutive losses to the Astros and a loss tonight will give the Astros the sweep.

Chris Schwinden will start tonight for the Mets looking to bounce back from his last start when he gave up five runs in four innings. Schwinden struggled against the Rockies and tonight should be very different. The Mets need Schwinden to give a solid effort tonight in limiting hits and runs. The last couple of games the Mets have made one crucial mistake that has cost them. This start could keep Schwinden around longer if he can get the job done.

The Mets have to score runs tonight. Starting this game out the Mets have to come out with the sense of wanting to score runs. Tonight is a game they have to win and try to bring some momentum into their next series. Look for David Wright to be a huge factor in this game tonight against the left-handed Wandy Rodriguez. Wright has hit with some consistency this season and tonight Wright needs to be the offensive spark for the Mets.

This team is looking for a win tonight, but they have to play smart and get every out they can get. In the last couple of games the Mets have made some errors that resulted in a big inning. Tonight they have to stay focused and make plays. This game will be televised on SNY at 2:05 PM and will be on WFAN 660 AM. Let’s go Mets!
