Pre-Game: Mets vs. Blue Jays 1:07 PM

image

The New York Mets and Toronto Blue Jays will finish off a three game series this afternoon. The Mets have lost two straight games and are looking to avoid the sweep today with a win. Yesterday the Mets had excellent pitching, but ran into Brandon Morrow. Morrow was able to hold them down to just three hits. Today the Mets will have to try their best in getting hits in the clutch. During this season they have done well in getting timely hits. David Wright had the day off yesterday, but today he will return to the lineup. His absence really showed how weak the Mets are without him. Look for a better showing offensively today. Lastly, the Mets have to pitch well today and give the team a chance to get some runs. So far the Mets have never led in this series. Today would be the nicest time for them to get a blow out win. Let’s go Mets!

Probable Pitchers:

Dillon Gee (2-3) 5.65 ERA, 37 strikeouts

Henderson Alvarez (3-3) 2.62 ERA, 15 strikeouts
