During today’s game SS Ruben Tejada left the game with a right quad strain. Tejada suffered the injury while running to first base after getting down a bunt. Tejada seemed to lose his balance which caused him to fall forward over the base and land awkwardly on his face.
It is unknown at this time if Tejada will go on the disabled list, but if he does the Mets will likely have to call up Jordany Valdespin. If Tejada requires a couple of days the Mets can not call up Valdespin, and will likely have to play Justin Turner in that position.
