Cubs beat Mets 6-1

The New York Mets couldn’t score anything tonight and their defense was just as bad. This game got away from the Mets in the 7th inning when they made three costly errors.

Johan Santana wasn’t great tonight, but was able to keep the team in the game. Santana went six innings allowing just two runs on five hits. Santana was up in the zone much of the night, but was able to get a quality start tonight.

Ike Davis drove in the only run for the Mets in the 9th inning as he crushed a solo homerun. Davis struggled for most of the night, but was finally able to get a fastball to drive out the park.

This is a very tough loss for the Mets who will now have to win back to back games to win the series. The Mets fall to the Cubs tonight 6-1.
