The Miami Heat were able to somehow get past the Oklahoma City Thunder tonight. The Heat came out with high intensity and energy that really shut the Thunder down early in the game. As a team the Heat won this game with excellent offensive execution. This was a great game by LeBron James who was able to close the game for the Heat. James scored 32 points and grabbed 8 rebounds tonight. His play tonight was special for the Heat simply because his points made a difference in big spots for the Heat. Not only did James play well, but Dwyane Wade also made a difference with his 24 points and 5 assists. Chris Bosh was huge tonight. He possibly played the biggest role because he was able to grab 8 offensive rebounds with 15 rebounds total. These three really came together tonight and really showed everyone that they are still a tough group when their shots are falling.
The Thunder made a resurgent effort to get back into this game after trailing by 17 points. Kevin Durant fell into foul trouble early in the game, but was able to get his game going to bring his team within two points. Durant scored 32 points and connected on four three pointers that were able to bring his team back. The most important thing for Durant is that he needs to stay aggressive, but play smart. Durant needs to be on the floor for his team. Tonight he got into foul trouble which stalled his production and really hampered his team from staying close.
After scoring just five points in the game one, James Harden came up huge in this game as he scored 21 points. Harden scored 17 points in the first half and was very instrumental in keeping his team within striking distance. The Thunder can not hang their heads after this loss. They will just need to start coming out the gate faster and get Kevin Durant involved early and often.
This was an epic game from many standpoints. The series now shifts down to Miami and only time will tell what the future holds. This was a great game and the Miami Heat proved that they have heart and will not go down without a fight. Game three will be on Sunday at 8:00 pm. Can the Heat continue to prove the doubters wrong or with the Thunder strike again?
