The New York Mets defeated the Baltimore Orioles tonight in front of 32,000 fans. Lucas Duda clubbed a two run homerun in the 6th inning. Duda continues to hit the ball really well and tonight showed some of his power.
Getting the start tonight for the Mets was Johan Santana. He had a very excellent game tonight. He went six innings allowing just four hits. Santana finally had a nice performance after throwing a no-hitter a couple of weeks ago. This was a much better start from him and one that he can build on.
The Mets finally seem to have their offense working again and tonight they put all the elements of their game together to get the win. Jordany Valdespin had two singles and two RBI’s tonight and continues to play well in his opportunities. This series will conclude tomorrow night where the Mets will be in position to get a sweep.
