Pre-Game: Cardinals vs. Mets 7:10 PM

image

Tonight the New York Mets and St. Louis Cardinals will start a four game series at Citi Field. The Mets are coming off a series lost to the Philadelphia Phillies in which their bullpen cost them two games. Tonight the Mets welcome back a former Met in Carlos Beltran who now plays right field for the Cardinals. Beltran should receive a nice reception tonight, simply because he did his best to comeback and help the team. Tonight the fans will show their appreciation and give Beltran a well deserved round of applause.

The Mets have played well other than their bullpen. Tonight the Mets have to continue to get leads and hope that the bullpen can start putting together nice efforts to win games. David Wright has been very quiet over the last few games, but tonight look for Wright to be back on his game. The way the season has gone for Wright it never seemed as if he would go into a slump. But he has and tonight would be a very nice night to finally have a big night again. Wright has been a great leader for a very young team. Right now he has struggled and the rest of the team has been able to pick up the load. This team has shown that they can hit and stay patient the entire game. This series against the Cardinals will come down to if this team can get hits and runs consistently. So far this season this team has shown that they can score runs. This game is one that can really bring momentum back to this team and energize them the rest of the series. Let’s go Mets!
