Pre-Game: Mets vs. Nationals 7:05 PM

image

The New York Mets will start a three game road series against the Washington Nationals tonight. The Mets are coming off a nice series win against the Cardinals in which they took three out of four games. The pitching performances in that series were remarkable. The three games the Mets won in that series were simply because of their starting pitching. Tonight that has to be the case tonight for the Mets.

The offense has also been very good over the last four games. The team is getting timely hits and are supporting the pitching. Lucas Duda has to be the most locked-in hitter for the Mets over the last five games. Duda has four homeruns and nine RBI’s over that stretch. He seems to be finding himself in hitters counts and is driving the ball out of the park. This series against the Nationals will really tell if Duda can remain locked in. This series is huge for the Mets simply because they can likely take first place if they can get the series win. The Mets and Nationals will battle tonight, but only one team can win. Let’s go Mets!
