The New York Mets will attempt to sweep the Tampa Bay Rays today at Tropicana Field. This series has been mostly about the offense, but last night R.A. Dickey stole the show with his brilliant pitching. That win was huge after the Mets were coming off two series losses in a row. Now the Mets have the series win and can get the sweep with another win today.
Ike Davis continues to swing the bat much better. Last night was more impressive simply because he was able to have a good night against a left-handed pitcher. This season has been a roller coaster ride for Davis, but it finally seems that he could be out of his slump. He has to continue hitting for the Mets to have better chances at winning games.
This game will come down to the pitching. The Mets need to have success from their starter and then from the bullpen, otherwise they will likely lose this game. The Mets will go for the sweep today. It won’t be easy, but the Mets have a nice opportunity to finish off a great series. Let’s go Mets!
