The New York Mets will continue their three game series against the Tampa Bay Rays tonight. The Mets are coming off a 11-2 win yesterday night in which their offense really came through. This series has started very nice for the Mets, but they have to continue winning after last night’s win. Ike Davis had a three-run homerun last night off a off-speed pitch and against a left handed pitcher. Davis has struggled all season long, but last night showed that maybe he is coming out a season slump. Not only was Davis great last night, but Jordany Valdespin had some very clutch at-bats that really gave the Mets the momentum to get the win. Valdespin had a career high four RBI’s in last night’s game. His play at the plate has been special this season and with him in the DH (designated hitter) spot the Mets really have a nice advantage. Valdespin has struggled on the defensive side this season, but his offensive ability is really solid. Let’s go Mets!
