Thunder defeat Heat 105-94

One of the biggest games of the season took place tonight in Oklahoma City. The Oklahoma City Thunder proved tonight that they wanted this game. After falling behind by 12 points, the Thunder were able to comeback in this game with a excellent second half of offense and defense. The Heat led by seven at the half, but the Thunder came back to take the lead at the end of the third quarter. This game was taken over by Kevin Durant in the fourth quarter as he scored 15 of his teams 31 points in the fourth quarter to get the win. Durant closed out this game by hitting clutch shots. His performance was very influential in getting his team the win. Durant scored 36 points tonight on 60% shooting.

LeBron James had a great game as well. James scored a team-high 30 points tonight and really had his game going early in this game. James made eight shots in the painted area tonight and really took it to the Thunder interior defense. James played well overall, but his team really struggled in the second half to get the job done. Dwyane Wade struggled to score tonight as he contributed 19 points. As always Wade continues to fill the stat sheet this postseason, but has really struggled to score. Tonight was another example of the struggles Wade continues to go through during these playoffs.

The Thunder stepped up in the second half as they shot 48% from the floor. Not only did they shoot well, but they outscored the Heat 58-40 in the second half. This was a very nice showing by the Thunder after their struggles early in the game. Russell Westbrook came alive in the second half as well, scoring 18 of his 27 points in that second half. Westbrook played his heart out late in this game and was able to help his team get the win.

The Thunder now take a 1-0 lead in the NBA Finals with game two looming on Thursday night. This was an excellent game by the Thunder, the Heat had a chance to win this game, but couldn’t hit shots consistently in the second half.
